Born and raised in Marin County, California, Jen Mahoney built her career on determination and excellence. After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, she began her career as a staff engineer at a Bay Area environmental consulting firm. In 2006, Jen brought her unique skill set and leadership potential to Heffernan Insurance Brokers, where she started as Executive Assistant to the CEO.
Jen’s talent for driving company-wide success propelled her through the ranks. She was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2013, and in 2024, she took on the pivotal role of Chief of Staff. In this role, Jen provides strategic guidance and executive leadership over core business functions—HR, legal, marketing, and operations—ensuring these essential areas work together to deliver innovative solutions across the organization. Her influence also extends to the Board of Directors at Heffernan Insurance Brokers, where she serves as a valued member.
A passionate advocate for women in leadership, Jen is an active member of the Women Empowered (WE) Committee, dedicated to promoting a culture of support and advancement for women in the workplace.
Outside of work, Jen cherishes spending time with her family. She finds joy in the everyday moments and the energy of keeping up with her twin daughters, especially exploring the outdoors together. Jen is proud to work at a company that understands the importance of family and is dedicated to giving back to the community.
