John began his insurance career with Chubb Insurance Group underwriting commercial insurance for Financial Institutions. John next worked for Alexander & Alexander, where he specialized in the insurance needs of regional and national financial institutions and other professional service industries.
John joined Heffernan Insurance brokers in May 1991 as an insurance producer. In 1999, he assumed his first management role in our Petaluma office and has established and worked with several offices since then. John’s responsibilities include serving on the Board of Directors and the Executive Team for Heffernan Group, Chief Carrier Officer of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, and CEO of Costero Brokers Ltd. He also serves as an advisory role for many insurance companies working with Heffernan Insurance Brokers.
Born and raised in Marin County, Calif., John received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. He is an avid skier and cyclist, and lives in the Oakland Hills with his wife and two daughters.
